About Sweet Lemon
The Sweet Lemon is one of the larger Indian dining rooms on the stretch of Main Road that runs out of central Sidcup towards the Foots Cray roundabout, seating around sixty across a long room that the kitchen also makes available for private functions. The menu draws on Indian and Nepalese cooking — the kitchen team has put Nepali dishes alongside the standard Bangladeshi-British curry list, and that combination has earned the restaurant a steady following through Just Eat and OpenTable.
The Nepalese side runs to chicken or lamb sekuwa, vegetable momos with the standard achar dip and a chef's thali plate, while the Indian side covers chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan josh, king prawn balti, biryanis and a careful vegetarian list of paneer, chana and bombay aloo. The kitchen runs a mixed-grill tandoori platter as the headline starter. Trade splits between lunch (Monday to Saturday) and an evening service that runs to midnight on Friday and Saturday — late for central Sidcup — making the restaurant a useful option for diners coming off the late trains into Sidcup station. Sit-down reservations and a strong delivery operation through Just Eat across Sidcup, Foots Cray, Lamorbey, Eltham and Mottingham.
