Dawat

Dawat is one of the better-rated Indian dining rooms in Blackfen, working from the Wellington Parade end of Blackfen Road and holding a 4.7-star aggregate across its main customer-review platforms — unusually high for a takeaway-and-restaurant operation in this corner of Bexley. The dining room is a small linen-and-leather space seating around forty, with a collection counter at the front and a busy delivery operation through Just Eat, Uber Eats and the kitchen's own website running alongside the sit-down service.

The menu is the established Bangladeshi-British curry-house list with the standard chef's specials section — chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken masala, jalfrezi and pasanda specials, lamb rogan josh, king prawn balti — and a careful vegetarian section. The kitchen pitches itself plainly as "Fine Indian Restaurant & Takeaway" and the marketing leans on contemporary plating rather than the volume-discount routine of the surrounding parade. Sunday-to-Thursday evenings run to half-past eleven; Friday and Saturday push through to midnight. The restaurant takes click-and-collect orders through its own site as well as walk-in collection, and delivers across Blackfen, Welling, Lamorbey and the southern edge of Falconwood.
