Rannah

Rannah took over the corner unit at Marechal Niel Parade — the small group of shops on Main Road between Sidcup and New Eltham — when the long-running Rishta restaurant closed. The name is the Bangla word for "cooking", and the kitchen has rebuilt the dining room around what it calls "modern Bengali cooking", with a sharper focus than the previous tenant on contemporary Bangladeshi flavours alongside the classic curry-house menu the previous occupant traded on.

The signature dishes the kitchen runs press releases on are the chicken tikka masala and the lamb tikka masala, both cited as London Evening Standard picks in the restaurant's own marketing. The wider menu covers the expected tandoori starters, baltis, biryanis and bhuna curries alongside Rannah's own chef's specials — slow-cooked nehari, hariyali sea bass, kalo bhuna of lamb and a paneer-shashlik for the vegetarian table. The room takes reservations on OpenTable, runs a small private function area, and offers delivery and collection through Just Eat and the kitchen's own website across Sidcup, New Eltham, Mottingham and the lower edges of Eltham.
