About Himalayan Spice
Himalayan Spice is the Nepalese-and-Indian dining room and takeaway tucked into the parade of shops on St James Way, the residential stretch that runs out of Foots Cray on the south side of central Sidcup. Of the cluster of curry kitchens working this part of Bexley, it is one of the few that puts a genuine Nepalese accent on the menu — the chef-owners trade on dishes from the Kathmandu valley alongside the more familiar Bangladeshi-British curry-house line, and the distinction has earned the place a 4.5-star average across more than a hundred Tripadvisor reviews.
The Nepalese side of the menu lists chicken or lamb sekuwa, momo dumplings with achar, dal bhat thali plates and the chef's herbed lamb sukuti, while the Indian section runs through the expected baltis, biryanis, masalas, jalfrezis and tandoori grills. Reviewers most often single out the lamb shank rohan josh and the tikka butter chicken for the depth of spice. The room seats around forty for sit-down service and the kitchen runs a strong delivery and collection trade out to Foots Cray, Sidcup, North Cray, Lamorbey and the eastern edge of Eltham. Card, cash and online ordering accepted; reservations taken by phone.
