Canton Garden

Canton Garden is the Chinese takeaway on Salisbury Drive, a small residential parade in the Midway area between Swadlincote and Hartshorne. It runs as an evening-only kitchen, phone-and-collect, covering the Midway and Hartshorne housing on either side of the A514.

The menu is the British-Cantonese list that Swadlincote's Chinese takeaways all work from — crispy duck pancakes and salt-and-pepper starters, sweet and sour, chow mein, chop suey, foo yung, satay and curry-house sauces, with a small English section of chicken-and-chips for households putting together a mixed order. Rice and noodle sides come in the usual sizes, and chef's special set meals are available for two or four people.

Within the small list of Chinese options ringing Swadlincote — Fortune Garden up at Newhall, New King Wah on Princess Street, New Canton Wok on Market Street and Golden Dragon on Alexandra Road — Canton Garden is the Midway-side option, used mainly by the immediate residential streets. It is a parade unit with no sit-in seating, set up for fast collection orders.
