Happy Hill Chinese Takeaway

Happy Hill is the small neighbourhood Chinese takeaway on Breach Road in Marlpool, the residential village on the western edge of Heanor on the way out towards Shipley. It is a quiet local shop rather than a town-centre operation and trades primarily to the surrounding Marlpool, Cotmanhay, Shipley, Heanor, Loscoe and Ilkeston streets.

The menu is the conventional Cantonese-takeaway sheet — Cantonese-style chicken and beef, spare ribs, kung po, foo yung, chop suey, chow mein, fried rice, sweet and sour, lemon chicken — at the standard neighbourhood-shop prices. Delivery is set up for a small radius covering the surrounding villages and Ilkeston as well as central Heanor; collection from the Breach Road counter is the more common option for the immediate Marlpool houses.

The shop runs its own ordering site and trades on a steady set of local regulars rather than the central-Heanor weekend pub crowd. For Marlpool households it is the closest Chinese, and the convenience of the Breach Road parking outside makes it the default collection option for the western side of the town.
