About Planque
Planque -- the name roughly translates as "hideaway" in French -- is a wine bar and restaurant nestled under a pair of railway arches in Haggerston, one of the most atmospheric and genuinely exciting dining destinations in E8. The restaurant is the brainchild of chef Seb Myers, who previously worked at P Franco (the celebrated natural wine shop and rotating chef residency in Clapton) and Chiltern Firehouse, bringing serious culinary pedigree to this railway arch location in a part of Hackney that is becoming increasingly compelling for food lovers.
The food is modern French cooking -- small and medium plates that are, in the words of Hot Dinners, "smart with textures and balance" -- complemented by an ambitious and adventurous wine programme that reflects the P Franco DNA. A great set lunch deal runs on Saturdays. Time Out rates it among the best restaurants in Hackney. The combination of the dramatic railway arch setting, serious food and an exceptional wine list makes Planque one of the most complete and satisfying restaurant experiences in East London. Open from Wednesday to Sunday.
