About China House
China House sits a few doors further along Murray Street from Mystic Garden, giving central Annan two Chinese takeaways inside the same short stretch — a long-standing feature of the town's evening takeaway market. The shop runs a standard British-Cantonese menu and a delivery radius of around three miles, covering the wider Annan and Brydekirk catchment.
The menu is the usual broad list: chow mein and fried rice as the staple bases, curry, sweet-and-sour, black-bean, satay and Cantonese-style sauces over chicken, beef, pork and king prawn, with a salt-and-pepper section, crispy aromatic duck served with pancakes, set meals that pair starters and mains, and a small list of side dishes like prawn crackers and seaweed. Pakora gets a starring role on the starters list, a hallmark of Scottish Chinese-takeaway menus that doesn't appear nearly as often south of the border.
The shop trades as collection and delivery only, with no in-house seating, and runs an evening service across the week.
