Swad Indian Cuisine — also trading under the Tripadvisor and Yell name "New Swad" — sits in the Delph Centre on Market Street, the same small precinct as the long-running Dia La Pizzeria. It is one of Swadlincote's better-regarded Indian restaurants, picking up a Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice award and a 4.6-from-217-review average that puts it inside the top ten places to eat in the town.

The kitchen runs as a full sit-down restaurant and takeaway, working through a longer-than-average Indian menu with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free flags through the dish list. The standard balti, bhuna, jalfrezi, madras and korma range is there, plus a tandoori grill section, a chef's-specials list with thali-style plates and a small Indo-Chinese crossover that some of the larger Bangladeshi-run Midlands restaurants have started carrying.

It runs lunch and evening service with table service in the dining room, and the kitchen takes delivery and takeout orders alongside. Parking is available outside the Delph and at the nearby Richardsons town-centre car park. For Swadlincote diners it is the curry-house pick most often named in local round-ups — better-reviewed and more ambitious than the standard estate-takeaway Indian competition.
