About Undal Contemporary Bangladeshi Cuisine
Undal is a family-owned Bangladeshi and Indian restaurant set inside Taylors Mill on Wellington Street in central Ripley — one of the converted Mill buildings that anchor that side of the town. It is one of the larger Indian rooms in the borough, a sixty-plus cover dining space rather than a tight takeaway counter, and one of the regular booking choices for Christmas parties and birthdays on the Ripley side of Amber Valley.
The kitchen runs a contemporary Bangladeshi-influenced menu — chicken and lamb tikka, mixed pakora and onion bhaji starters, full tandoori plates straight from the clay oven, balti, biryani, dopiaza and house chef-specials — with vegetarian and vegan sections that are noticeably more developed than the Ripley average. Free home delivery is a long-standing feature of the operation, and the restaurant runs its own delivery within a working radius of central Ripley.
The sit-down dining room is the strongest argument for the restaurant; for big tables and Friday-and-Saturday bookings it is worth phoning a few days ahead.
