Sylhet Spice sits at Park Corner on the Nottingham Road side of Ripley, a short walk from the Market Place. It is one of the longest-established Indian restaurants in the town — open more than twenty years — and consistently ranks in the top five Ripley restaurants on Tripadvisor with a rating around 4.5 across more than 250 reviews.

The kitchen runs a properly populated chef-specials list alongside the conventional balti, tikka masala, korma, jalfrezi and biryani standards, with a separate Sylheti-style section that gives the restaurant its name and a few sizzling tandoori plates that come out on the iron skillet. Vegetarian and vegan options are generous — the garlic paneer comes up repeatedly in reviews — and the dining room handles full table service while the takeaway and delivery operation runs through the restaurant's own ordering app and the usual aggregators. Delivery extends out to Codnor, Alfreton, Belper, Heanor and parts of Eastwood and Ironville.

For sit-down regulars, it is one of the safer bookings in central Ripley and worth a Friday-night table.
