It sits at 4.5 stars on Tripadvisor and inside the top three Duffield restaurants on review weight, with a sit-down dining room dressed with plush fabrics, fountains and brass lanterns rather than the basic curry-house fitout that the area more usually offers.

The kitchen runs traditional home-cooked Indian rather than off-the-shelf British-curry-house — the lead chef earns regular praise for spice depth, freshness and care from starters through to desserts. There is a sharper side to flag. The food hygiene rating dropped to 1 for three years according to one reviewer and the shop has accumulated occasional complaints about cleanliness — black hairs in the curry, dirty pickle trays — and slow delivery on the takeaway side.
