Duffield Balti House

The Duffield Balti House is a small Indian takeaway and kebab shop on New Zealand Lane in Duffield, a few yards from the Royal Gardens Chinese on the same parade. It is now trading as Duffield Balti & Grill — a broad menu that runs the standard British-Indian curry list alongside a kebab and pizza section from the same kitchen.

The Indian side covers bhuna, dhansak, dopiaza, jalfrezi, madras, korma and a chef's-special run, with tandoori starters and the usual rice and bread choices. The reviews split: a base of regulars praise the value of the meal deals — two curries, rice and a naan for around fifteen pounds — and call the service quick and friendly. The negative comments concentrate on inconsistency: tasteless main courses and pilau rice without depth on bad nights, and a recent dip in doner-meat quality flagged by a few reviewers.
