Belper Spice

Belper Spice is a small Indian and crossover takeaway on Chestnut Avenue in Belper, on the residential Parks Estate north-east of the town centre. It works the broad menu that small-town takeaways often run — Indian curries, pizzas, kebabs, fried chicken and fast-food sides from one kitchen — and sits on the same block as Aroma and the New Full Moon Chinese, giving the estate a useful run of takeaway options.

The kitchen runs the standard British-Indian curry list — bhuna, dhansak, dopiaza, jalfrezi, madras and a chef-special section, with tandoori starters and the usual run of rices and breads. The pizza and kebab side is the supplementary trade, useful for mixed family orders rather than the main attraction. Pricing is in line with the cheaper Belper takeaway range.

The shop is set up for collection and delivery and trades evenings into the late hours at weekends. Online review presence is thin compared with the central Bridge Street operations — most of its trade is local custom from the Parks Estate, Whitemoor and the lanes to the north.
