Lucky House is one of the longer-trading Chinese takeaways at the lower end of Albert Street, the tenement-and-shopfront spine that runs through inner Stobswell from the Forfar Road junction. The shop has built an unusually strong online rating — five out of six on Just Eat across more than three and a half thousand reviews, which puts it well ahead of most of the wider east-Dundee Chinese cluster — and the trade is overwhelmingly delivery-led to that audience. The menu runs the full Cantonese carry-out range: appetisers and soups, beef, pork and chicken sections, duck specials, lamb dishes, a long seafood column featuring king prawn and squid, foo yung, a serious curry-sauce range and a chef's specials column that goes beyond the standard takeaway pattern. Vegetarian dishes are properly built out rather than tacked on. The shop trades within a three-mile delivery radius which covers Stobswell, Baxter Park, the lower Forfar Road, the Albert Street tenements and the housing east along Broughty Ferry Road.
