About Dragon Garden
The corner unit on the central Charleston Drive parade has long housed a small Chinese takeaway serving the Charleston and Menzieshill housing schemes; under the Dragon Garden name it earned consistent praise on Tripadvisor for fresh cooking, a spotlessly clean visible kitchen and an obliging chef who would work to bespoke orders. The shop is now trading as China Pot, but the parade and the customer base have remained essentially the same.
The menu is the standard Cantonese-takeaway sweep — chow mein, fried rice, curry sauces, salt and pepper chicken, sweet and sour pork, set meals for two — with a delivery radius taking in the immediate Charleston streets, parts of Lochee and the closer Menzieshill closes. Charleston Drive itself runs a dense little strip of takeaways: Indian houses, Chinese carry-outs and a pizza shop all within a few doors of each other, and the Chinese unit on this stretch has historically held its own on quality rather than scale. Reviews emphasise prompt service and consistent food rather than menu novelty, which is the recipe most successful Dundee scheme takeaways stick to.
