Kitty Fisher's
10 Shepherd Market Mayfair, London, West London, W1J 7QF
Kitty Fisher's at 10 Shepherd Market in Mayfair W1 is a small, romantic restaurant in a Mayfair townhouse on one of London's most charming pedestrian streets. Named after Kitty Fisher, an 18th-century courtesan celebrated for once eating a £1,000 banknote spread on a buttered roll — among the most expensive pieces of toast in history. The Nudge calls it "a teeny but romantic space" that "signalled the reinvigoration of the restaurant scene on Shepherd Market." Hardens has consistently praised the cooking as "surprisingly accomplished for such a small restaurant." The menu is wood-fired British seasonal: Brixham hake with lobster bisque, Belted Galloway Chateaubriand for two from the wood grill, whole grilled lemon sole with brown butter and clams, chicken parfait with apple compote. The Bad Kitty cocktail (gin-based) is the signature drink.
