The Shad

The Shad at 96 Tooley Street, London Bridge served European food from the Tooley Street close to London Bridge in SE1. Named for the shad — the silvery fish of the herring family that once swam up the Thames in great numbers — the restaurant evokes the historic Thames fishing culture of this part of South London. Tooley Street SE1 2TH runs along the south side of the Thames close to London Bridge station on the Northern and Jubilee lines.

The Tooley Street and London Bridge area has been dramatically transformed in recent years with the development of London Bridge Quarter, More London and the Shard, becoming one of London's most vibrant commercial and food destinations.
