Barbarella's Sandwich Bar and Takeaway at 141 Lower Marsh, Waterloo served sandwiches from the Lower Marsh in SE1. Lower Marsh is one of South London's most characterful streets — a traditional street market running parallel to the Waterloo Road close to Waterloo and Lambeth North underground stations, lined with independent shops, cafes and food stalls. The street has been a market since the 1880s and retains a authentic, unpretentious character.

Named for the 1968 science fiction film, Barbarella's brought a playful, independent spirit to the Lower Marsh market area. The Cut and Lower Marsh area of SE1 has some of South London's most interesting independent food businesses.
