About The Good Egg
The Good Egg is a celebrated Middle Eastern and Jewish deli-inspired restaurant at 93 Stoke Newington Church Street, one of N16's best-loved dining institutions. Yelp updated April 2026. CountryAndTownHouse included it in their March 2026 best Stoke Newington restaurants guide. Recommended by The Nudge, The Infatuation, Time Out and Hardens. Three locations across London (Stoke Newington, Camden, Walthamstow) and one in Margate. TripAdvisor describes it as "right in the middle of N16's leafy Church Street and a short stroll from Clissold Park -- a north London favourite with menus that cater very well to both meat eaters and veggie/vegan diners."
Inspired by New York and Montreal Jewish delis infused with Middle Eastern flavour, the menu spans challah French toast with blood orange and honeycomb, classic salt beef lunch bagels, za'atar fried chicken with chilli honey for dinner, shakshuka, labneh, whipped green feta with house pickles, and the famous chocolate babkas and ice cream sandwiches for dessert. The restaurant is centred around a long open kitchen bar where guests can watch the chefs at work. Stunning seasonal cocktails, craft beers, natural wines and artisanal coffees available all day. Brunch is walk-in only; dinner reservations recommended Thursday to Saturday. Own website: thegoodegg.co. Open daily 09:00--21:00.
