Wybers Chinese

Wybers Chinese is the local Chinese takeaway on the small St Nicholas Drive parade in Wybers Wood, the residential estate on the western edge of Grimsby a short drive from Great Coates and Healing. It shares the parade with Wybers Chippy — a separate, award-winning fish-and-chip operation a couple of doors along — and the two together are the parade's anchor food shops for the estate.

The menu runs the standard British-Chinese pattern: set meals, foo yung, chow mein, sweet and sour, Cantonese-style curry, salt-and-pepper variations and the usual starter list of spare ribs, pancake rolls and sesame prawn toast. Trade leans heavily on Wybers Wood and the neighbouring Great Coates streets for delivery, with collection by parade-side parking the rest. The shop trades evening only Tuesday through Friday, with longer Saturday hours, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays — an unusually limited schedule for a Chinese takeaway but apparently sustainable on the volume of regulars the estate generates. A proper neighbourhood operation rather than a destination.
