The Beijing Dragon

The Beijing Dragon is a long-running Chinese restaurant on Abbey Road, sitting a short walk from the Old Market Place and the Top Town shopping centre. It trades as both a sit-down restaurant — a buffet-style operation in a larger room than most of the area's takeaway-only Chinese shops — and a delivery operator covering central Grimsby, Cleethorpes and the surrounding suburbs from a tight evening-led ordering window. The Beijing Dragon brand also runs sister restaurants in Skegness and Spilsby under the same group.

The shop has had a difficult recent operating history — the former operator was prosecuted in the late 2010s after HMRC found sales records had been suppressed across a fourteen-month period, and was subsequently barred from running companies. The current operation trades on under the same name, and customer reviews on the major aggregator platforms put it in the middle of the central Grimsby Chinese-restaurant pack. The menu runs the long British-Cantonese list — soups, sizzling dishes, sweet-and-sour, salt-and-pepper, chow meins, curries and fried rice — alongside the buffet seating, with collection and delivery the bulk of the weekday trade and the dining room busier at weekends.
