About Shahi Mahal Takeaway
Shahi Mahal sits on Pinfold Lane, the quiet residential turn off Louth Road in the older heart of Scartho village. It is one of the few dedicated Indian takeaways in this part of south-west Grimsby and works almost entirely on collection and short-radius delivery into the surrounding residential streets.
The kitchen runs a broad subcontinental board — the usual range of korma, jalfrezi, madras, bhuna, dhansak and balti, with biryanis, tandoori grills, side breads and a long vegetarian section — and the shop has built a long-standing reputation locally for the consistency of its spicing rather than for chasing trend dishes. Reviews on TripAdvisor and Restaurant Guru repeatedly describe it as the best Indian in the area, with the freshness of the cooking and the friendliness of the counter staff the most-mentioned points. Phone-and-collect is the dominant order pattern; the shop also handles delivery to nearby postcodes.
Opening is evening-only and runs through the week, with the kitchen firing up in the early evening and trading through to closing time at around 11.30. The Pinfold Lane location keeps Shahi Mahal a little off the main Scartho takeaway run on Louth and Waltham Roads, but it pulls a settled regular trade who know exactly where they are going.
