Golden City

Golden City has been trading on Littlefield Lane since 1998 — by Grimsby Chinese-takeaway standards a long innings — and works from a single-counter shop opposite the Sainsbury's supermarket on the western edge of the town centre. That cross-the-road footfall from the supermarket car park is part of the shop's catchment; the rest comes from the Littlecoates and Yarborough housing in the streets behind.

The board is broader than the average local Chinese: the kitchen lists Thai, Malaysian and English supplements alongside the standard Anglo-Cantonese chow mein, sweet and sour, curry and crispy duck range. In practice that means satay sauces and a few stir-fries done with a lighter touch than the standard takeaway template, alongside the usual set meals and rice-and-noodle bases. Reviews are mixed across platforms — there is a long tail of consistent regulars on TripAdvisor and Yell who put it on their shortlist, with the occasional one-star reviews that come with high-volume trade.

Opening is evening-only and the shop trades through to roughly 11pm. Delivery covers the immediate Yarborough postcode and reaches across to the streets running back towards the A1136 and town-centre edge.
