Peking Boat

Peking Boat is the well-rated Chinese-and-Thai takeaway part-way up Sidcup Hill, a few minutes' walk from the High Street and one of the better-reviewed Chinese kitchens in central Sidcup — the Just Eat aggregate sits at five out of six stars across more than eight hundred customer reviews, an unusually high count for a small Sidcup-side shop. The unusual twist on the menu is the kitchen's Thai sideline: green and red curries, pad Thai, pad see ew and Thai-style fishcakes run alongside the more familiar Cantonese list.

The Chinese half of the menu carries the expected sweet-and-sour chicken or pork in batter, beef in black bean, chicken cashew, salt-and-pepper ribs, special chow mein, foo yung and a wide curry section, with set meals priced for two, three and four. The Thai half adds tom yum, satay skewers, pad Thai and basil chicken. Tuesday is the rest day — closed for the kitchen and the counter — with the remainder of the week trading late afternoon through to half-past eleven. Delivery and collection cover central Sidcup, Lamorbey, Foots Cray and the eastern edge of Eltham; both card and cash accepted at the counter.
