Meopham Tandoori

Meopham Tandoori is the village's long-standing Indian restaurant and takeaway, occupying a corner unit at the south end of The Parade on Wrotham Road, the small line of shops that has served the centre of Meopham for decades. The restaurant has been a fixture of the village for years and is one of only a handful of sit-down dining options in this stretch of prosperous Kent commuter country south of Gravesend.

The menu runs through the standard British curry-house range — tandoori grills, baltis, biryanis, Madras and bhuna curries, Pasanda and Thai-influenced specials — alongside lighter fish dishes and a small vegetable section. Reviews are mixed, with regulars praising the kitchen for clean cooking, attentive service, free parking outside and the family-friendly atmosphere on weekend evenings, while a smaller chorus has criticised drinks pricing and atmosphere. The Hook Green windmill and the historic Meopham green sit a few minutes' walk from the door, and the restaurant benefits from being one of the few licensed Indian dining rooms within walking distance of Meopham station on the Chatham Main Line up to London Victoria.

Collection orders and reservations are both taken; the FSA awarded a 5 (Very Good) hygiene rating at the December 2024 inspection.
