About Masums Indian Takeaway
Masum's is one of the longer-running Indian takeaways in east Gravesend, trading from a Rochester Road shopfront in the residential pocket running back from the central ring road toward the Singlewell estate. The takeaway is owned by Sham and his brother, who took the business over from earlier owners and have continued to run it as a working Bangladeshi-British curry-house operation — the Instagram profile flags the shop's 25-year history at the address. The kitchen runs the now-standard takeaway menu: tandoor section delivering tikka and sheek kebabs cooked over charcoal, biryanis served with separate vegetable curry, balti and karahi mains, traditional sauce-based curries across the standard madras-vindaloo-korma heat ladder, and a fish-curry section that runs to several preparations. Chefs are brought over from India to keep the cooking authentic. The shop runs evenings only — 5pm to 10pm Sunday through Thursday, with Friday and Saturday closing extended to 10.30pm. Customer feedback across Tripadvisor, Yelp and Halal Run is consistently positive on the consistency and the price-quality balance, and the takeaway holds a place among the better-regarded long-running Indians on this end of town.
