Tamping Grounds is the most popular specialty coffee shop in Leyton, winner of the Leytonstoner best coffee award 2025 with a commanding 43% of the readers' vote -- a significant margin over runner-up Perky Blenders. The Francis Road branch serves what the Leytonstoner newsletter describes as "a faultless long black, with perfect crema and wonderful staff to boot" and has become a staple of daily life on Leyton's beloved pedestrianised independent high street. Such has been the success of the concept that Tamping Grounds opened four outlets in just over a year.

The menu covers specialty coffees across the full range of espresso-based and filter preparations alongside pastries, cakes and light refreshments. The Francis Road branch is the original and the most embedded in the local community, alongside the Stone Mini Market branch and the Cann Hall Road outlet.
