Mar and Terra

Mar and Terra (Sea and Land) is a Portuguese restaurant on Lea Bridge Road in Leyton, reviewed by the Leytonstoner newsletter -- the definitive guide to eating and drinking in E10 and E11 -- as one of the interesting new restaurant additions to the area. The Leytonstoner reviewer described arriving on a stormy December evening and finding a menu of Portuguese favourites including king prawns, veal and braised octopus -- the kind of robust, flavour-packed Portuguese cooking that has made East London increasingly hospitable to Iberian restaurants.

The menu covers classic Portuguese and Iberian dishes with a focus on seafood and grilled meats in the Portuguese tradition: cod (bacalhau), prawns, octopus, veal, grilled sardines and a range of Portuguese wines.
