Enoteca Super Tuscan is a characterful Italian wine bar and kitchen tucked into Artillery Passage, a narrow historic alley near Liverpool Street station in Spitalfields, East London. Taking its name from the Super Tuscan movement that emerged in Tuscany in the late 1960s -- when pioneering winemakers broke with tradition to produce some of the finest wines in Italy -- the restaurant shares that spirit of quality and individuality. The kitchen produces a seasonal menu of Italian small plates, pasta and mains alongside an exceptional, carefully chosen wine list featuring the more unusual and finer wines of Italy. Stuzzichini include bruschetta, arancini with smoked pancetta and n'duja, and fagioli alla Toscana. Pasta dishes such as wild boar ravioli and mushroom tortelloni are standouts, alongside char-grilled sausages with lentils and herb-marinated chicken. Reservations are taken by telephone only. Open Monday to Friday for lunch and dinner; closed Saturday and Sunday.
