Dia La Pizzeria

Dia La Pizzeria has been trading from the Delph Centre on Market Street since 1989, which makes it one of the longest-running independent pizza restaurants in Swadlincote and a reference point for the town's pizza-and-delivery scene. The Delph itself is the small precinct at the south end of Market Street, immediately off the main town parade.

It is a sit-down restaurant as well as a delivery operation. The dining room runs to an American-diner styling with booths and a sizeable seating area — unusual for a Swad town-centre pizza shop, where most competitors are parade units fitted only for collection. The menu covers stone-baked pizzas, burgers, ribs and a Mexican section of fajitas, burritos, quesadillas and nachos, which gives the dining-in trade something to choose between.

Hours are flexible: lunch service Thursday through Saturday from noon to a quarter past one, then evening service from five through to nearly midnight at weekends and around quarter to eleven Sunday through Wednesday. The kitchen takes orders direct or through the shop's own delivery site, with a delivery range covering Swadlincote and the immediately surrounding villages. As a long-established independent it carries strong local recognition — three and a half decades on the same site is unusual on this parade.
