Midland Kebabs

Midland Kebabs has been one of the steadier independent kebab houses in Ilkeston, trading from a unit on Awsworth Road on the way out of town towards Awsworth and Eastwood. Online reviewers — Tripadvisor, Yelp, Uber Eats — repeatedly come back to the consistency of the donner and the size of the mixed-meat plates, with one regular calling it Ilkeston's finest kebab house.

The kitchen runs a mixed kebab, tandoori and pizza menu. Top of the list are the chicken-tikka donner mix and the chicken-tikka and shish mix kebabs, ordered as wraps or on plates with chips and salad. There is a sizeable tandoori-flavoured pizza range — tandoori special and donner feast among them — alongside the standard meat-feast pizzas, burgers and fried chicken. Sauces are made in-house; the chilli sauce in particular gets specific mentions.

Trading is seven nights a week, opening at half past five and running to midnight Sunday through Thursday, with later closing on Fridays and Saturdays — useful coverage for people coming back from Nottingham on the Awsworth Road.
