Miahs Takeaway

Miah's Takeaway is the Loscoe Road Indian and Bangladeshi shop in Heanor, a short walk north of the central Market Place towards the Loscoe village boundary. It is run by Miah's Takeaway Heanor Ltd, a small family business registered in 2020, and trades primarily to the Heanor, Loscoe, Langley Mill, Marlpool and Codnor residential streets.

The kitchen runs the standard Bangladeshi-style Indian list — tikka masala, balti, biryani, korma, jalfrezi, madras and the chef-special heat — with separate starter, tandoori and vegetarian sections and the usual rice and bread sides. Collection comes off the counter quickly and the shop runs its own delivery into the local postcodes rather than channelling everything through the apps, which keeps the prices a little tighter than the aggregator-led shops in central Heanor.

Reviewers consistently praise the quality of the cooking. For the residential side of Heanor north towards Loscoe — the streets D H Lawrence walked to school on as a boy — it is the obvious local Indian, and the regulars stick with it.
