The Village Grill

The Village Grill is the small Indian and grill-house takeaway on the South View parade, sitting on the Burton Road end where Littleover meets the small cluster of Asian shops around Bamboo 8 and the upper Burton Road run. The kitchen is built around kebabs served with fresh naan, seasonal salad and a row of in-house sauces — the mild curry, hot chilli, yoghurt-mint and garlic mayo — alongside tandoori chicken kebabs and a small pizza-and-garlic-bread sideline. The naan-served kebab is the dish the shop hangs its reputation on.

It is a counter-collection and delivery operation, trading evenings through the week. The business was incorporated in early 2023, so the current set-up under VILLAGE GRILL DERBY LIMITED is the latest iteration of a name that has run at this Southview address for some years. Reviews are mixed — typical of a small grill shop building its custom — and the kitchen is geared firmly to local repeat trade rather than visitors. A reasonable Burton Road option for kebab-and-naan with a few extras.
