Red Chilli

Red Chilli is one of the longer-running Indian restaurants on the Burton Road run through Littleover, sitting on the stretch where the south Derby suburbs feed into the Rose Hill cluster of independent restaurants. The kitchen works the standard Indian-Bangladeshi restaurant repertoire that has anchored Burton Road for many years — biryani, balti, karahi, tandoori and mixed grills, with a strong takeaway operation alongside the sit-in restaurant. The chef has picked up Midlands curry-restaurant awards along the way, which sets the kitchen a notch above the standard Burton Road competition.

The restaurant has a useful party-room hire arrangement for family events, with free parking on the doorstep and to the side — the latter giving the place an edge over the on-street Indians further up Burton Road. Trade is split between the dine-in restaurant and takeaway, with delivery into the wider Littleover and Sunny Hill catchment.
