About Harvest Kitchen
Harvest Kitchen is the Chinese takeaway built into the small Pilgrims Way parade at Stenson Fields, the post-war housing development that sits a couple of miles south-west of central Derby. The shop is a quiet neighbourhood operation — the parade is also home to the Stenson Fields pub, a small convenience store and a handful of other local services — and most of the order book is collection and delivery to the surrounding Stenson Fields and south Sinfin streets. The menu is the familiar British-Cantonese list of sweet and sour, curry sauce, salt and pepper, chow mein and fried rice, with set meals built around boxes for one and two, and the kitchen is evening-only. Locals are warm in their reviews on the consistency end — repeat orders over years are a recurring note — and a Food Standards Agency inspection in April 2025 carried the shop's most recent rating. The Pilgrims Way location is several minutes' drive from the busier Sinfin Lane shops and the takeaway lives off the surrounding residential trade rather than passing custom, which makes the long-running regulars the bedrock of the business.
