Curry Express

Curry Express is the long-running Indian takeaway and sweet centre on the Blagreaves Lane parade, sitting on the small row of shops that also includes Pizza Plaza and Peacock Fountain. The shop combines two trades — a fresh-cooked Indian takeaway built around classic curries, biryanis and tandoori work, and a counter of Indian mithai (jalebi, gulab jamun, the heavier barfis) for the surrounding Asian community in Littleover and Sunny Hill. Vegetarian and vegan options run through the menu, with the chef cooking to order rather than batching.

The shop opens daytime from mid-morning Tuesday to Sunday — closed Mondays — and serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks across a long working day, which sets it apart from the evening-only takeaways further down the parade. Free delivery is offered into Sinfin, Stenson Fields, Sunny Hill, Heatherton, Littleover and Mickleover on orders over a small minimum. Halal across the menu, and a useful daytime option in a part of south Derby that otherwise leans heavily to evening trade.
