Curry Direct

Curry Direct runs out of the same Allenton plot as the longer-established Allenton Kebabs on Osmaston Road, operating as the dedicated halal Indian curry side of the operation. The kitchen carries a full Indian list — tandoori starters off the clay oven, balti, karahi, masala and biryani mains across the chicken, lamb, king prawn and vegetarian side of the menu, with naans and rice cooked to order and a small chef's specials section. Everything on the menu is prepared halal, which sets the shop apart from several of the surrounding Allenton mixed-menu takeaways and gives it a defined audience in the wider south-Derby Muslim community. Hours follow the late-trading pattern of the Allenton Kebabs counter — through to one in the morning midweek and two in the morning at weekends — and the shop is collection and delivery only. The kitchen sits on one of the busier south-Derby Indian takeaway clusters: Allenton Balti House, Papa John's, Zaza Pizza and Pizza Romance all on the same short stretch of Osmaston Road.
