Balti Nights

Balti Nights is a small sit-down Indian on the Wordsworth Avenue parade in Sinfin, a few doors along from Seven Tastes and tucked into the residential edge of the south-west Derby suburb. It is genuinely a balti house in the older Birmingham sense — a short curry-house menu built around the balti pot rather than the longer karahi-and-biryani spread larger Indian takeaways carry — and the kitchen has a particular line in milder, fresher curries that has built it a strong run of repeat reviews. The shop is licensed for collection and delivery but also takes a small number of sit-down covers, which is unusual for this end of Sinfin; it does not hold its own alcohol licence but the off-licence next door makes bring-your-own simple, and the staff are happy to chill bottles. All curries are noted as gluten-free, which is an unusual point of difference. Delivery runs to the surrounding Sinfin and Stenson Fields streets and the minimum order on Just Eat is set at the lower end.
