Wok Aroma

Wok Aroma is the Chinese takeaway on Market Street in central South Normanton, a short walk from the village's main square and the run of shops that links it down to Mansfield Road. The menu is a fully worked Cantonese list — sweet and sour, kung po, satay, Szechuan and black-bean dishes, chicken in lemon sauce, the house wandering dragon, chop suey, spare ribs in barbecue sauce, chow mein and a long rice section. Set meals are the usual sensible value.

The shop holds a 5 (very good) FSA hygiene rating from its 2024 inspection and is well rated locally. It closes Mondays — opening on bank holiday Mondays — and trades later on Friday and Saturday, which fits the way most South Normanton households use it as the regular weekend Chinese. Collection from the Market Street counter is the easiest route; delivery covers the village, the Carter Lane streets and the closer parts of Pinxton.
