About Dil Se
Dil'Se is the long-running Indian restaurant on the West End stretch of Perth Road, set on the busy university and tourist artery a short walk from Magdalen Green and the Tay railway-bridge approach. The room itself is one of the architecturally ambitious dining spaces on the Dundee scene — built with skylights and large frontage windows and recognised with a Civic Trust Award for its contemporary design — and the kitchen built a strong British Curry Awards profile under the Rouf family, who ran the business from 2003 until 2023. The restaurant closed in February 2023, was put up for sale through Christie & Co and was acquired by restaurateur Alamgir Hossain (also behind Beans and Berries and the Indos brand in Broughty Ferry), reopening after refurbishment on 16 September 2024 with a renovated kitchen and a refreshed dining room. The Courier's review of the new operation was mixed but broadly positive on the kitchen continuing to deliver under the new ownership. The restaurant takes bookings via Quandoo and OpenTable and operates a delivery side via Deliveroo.
