About Bombay Joes
Bombay Joe's is one of the longest-established Indian sit-in restaurants in Broughty Ferry, having opened on Gray Street — the suburb's main central shopping spine — in March 1999. The kitchen is Punjabi-leaning rather than the generic British-Indian template, and the menu carries a noticeable run of Punjabi dishes alongside the usual tandoori and curry-house standards. The dining room had a high-end interior refit in 2019 that updated the look of the original 2011 fit-out by Alan Beaton, and the space is set up primarily as an evening restaurant, with booking recommended at weekends. Takeaway runs in parallel via the restaurant's own ordering system and the major aggregators. Bombay Joe's sits at the upper end of the Ferry's Indian dining scene, alongside Goa on Erskine Lane and the much-changed former Gulistan House site on Queen Street, and consistently sits in the top tier of the suburb's Indian restaurants on the main review platforms.
