Shabab on Eastgate is part of the legacy of one of Leeds's most celebrated Indian dining institutions. Founded in 1973, Shabab began its journey on Eastgate before the restaurant moved to Bishopgate Street and subsequently to Wellington Street. The Eastgate address — now home to a takeaway-focused incarnation — carries the brand's South Asian cooking tradition: tandoori dishes, balti, karahi, biryani and freshly made bread. The family-run operation sources ingredients daily from local suppliers, and chefs trained in South Asian restaurants bring authenticity to a menu covering the cuisines of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. A Leeds institution across five decades.
