Cantinho do Aziz on Railway Street is the takeaway extension of the celebrated Portuguese restaurant operation that began under a railway arch in Leeds city centre. Run by a family with a sibling restaurant in Lisbon and cousins from Cascais at the stoves, the kitchen serves authentic Portuguese and Luso-African cooking — peri peri chicken, Aziz steak sandwiches with fried egg and Portuguese sauce, pastel de nata, and dishes influenced by the former Portuguese colonies of Mozambique, Brazil and Angola. The Railway Street location gives the Harehills community access to one of Leeds's most distinctive food operations, with the same family-run authenticity that made the original city-centre arch a Leeds dining destination.
