Chop Suey House

Chop Suey House is a long-standing Chinese takeaway on the busy Anlaby Road stretch in west Hull, an area where Chinese takeaways have competed alongside kebab shops and pizza places for decades. The name is a nod to the classic British-Chinese takeaway culture — chop suey, though an American-Chinese invention, became shorthand for the genre in British high streets from the 1970s onwards. The Anlaby Road position is well into the west Hull residential corridor, with a strong local catchment from the surrounding HU3 streets. The menu covers the expected British-Cantonese range, and the format is collection-and-delivery for the neighbourhood rather than a dine-in experience.
