Woklicious was the first dedicated noodle bar in Huddersfield, staking a claim on Queensgate for freshly prepared Far Eastern food served in boxes rather than on plates. The concept centres on wok-cooked noodle dishes assembled to order — a departure from the standard curry-house or pizza model that dominates the town centre. Halal-certified and positioned close to the university quarter, the box-format offering proved popular with students and town-centre workers looking for something different from the usual takeaway circuit. The Queensgate location gives straightforward access from the central shopping area and the main pedestrianised thoroughfares. A pioneer of a format that has since become more common elsewhere in West Yorkshire, but that still carries novelty in central Huddersfield.
