Landos Jamaican Cafe

Lando's Jamaican Cafe operated on Lower Fitzwilliam Street from 2013 to around 2017, run by Orlando Hinds — a Jamaican-born chef brought up in Brixton who brought genuinely authentic Caribbean cooking to Huddersfield. The menu covered jerk chicken, brown stew lamb, ackee and saltfish, rice and peas, and dumplings, all prepared with the seasoning and technique of Jamaican home cooking. The cafe closed when Hinds moved on to open Lando's Bar and Grill at a different site, which opened in October 2021.
