Chicken Cottage

Chicken Cottage is a halal fast-food chain with a branch on Cross Church Street, Huddersfield's busiest fast-food strip. The chain was established in 1994 and specialises in grilled and fried peri peri chicken, burgers and wraps — a menu that positions it between the standard chicken-shop offer and the peri peri restaurant format. It competes on the same stretch with Dixy Chicken, Grillish and other operators chasing the same lunchtime and late-night trade. All food is halal-certified, and the menu is alcohol-free throughout. The Huddersfield branch draws from the town-centre foot traffic, the University of Huddersfield student population and the late-evening crowd moving through Cross Church Street after the bars close.
