The format is the classic South Yorkshire sandwich-shop one — made-to-order baps, sandwiches and toasties built across the counter, a hot-snack range with all-day breakfast boxes, bacon and sausage barms, jacket potatoes and a rolling lunchtime selection of cobs, salads and pasta pots.

Pricing sits at the local-cafe end rather than the high-street chain end, and the regulars are the construction trades, carers and shift workers from the surrounding ex-colliery estates. The shop has a strong Facebook following for daily-special posts and seasonal hot meals such as full English breakfasts, hot pork sandwiches and homemade soups in winter. Trade is morning-and-lunch only — once the working-day rush is done the shop shuts for the day.
