Mumbai opened on Stainforth's Station Road in 2012 and has stayed in the same Station Road unit since, building a reputation across South Yorkshire as one of the stronger Indian and Kashmiri operators in the Doncaster ring. The board reaches further than the standard curry-house format — alongside the conventional balti, masala and tandoori sections, the kitchen carries a Northern Kashmiri specialities range with dishes that don't turn up on the village competition. The restaurant is fully licensed, with a wine and beer list drawn from a wider geography than the village average, and the dining room offers vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and Halal options across the menu. Free off-street parking sits to the side of the restaurant and the South Yorkshire Curry Guide blog has rated the kitchen well above the regional median; reviewer feedback on TripAdvisor and the directory aggregators is consistently strong on the standard and the chef-special dishes.
